Wavell Netball Club understands that
circumstances can change and that a player may occasionally need to withdraw
from a competition.
This policy outlines the club’s approach to
refunds and applies to the Wavell Netball Club component of registration fees
only.
Registration fees may include separate charges for Wavell Netball Club, Brisbane Netball Association (BNA) and Netball Queensland, processed through Netball Connect. Each organisation is responsible for its own fees and applicable refund conditions.
Winter Season
Grading day is proposed as the Winter
Season cutoff because costs associated with registration, insurance and
participation may already have been incurred.
Summer Season
Wavell Netball Club will submit a refund
request to BNA and/or Netball Queensland where applicable.
Refunds of these components are subject to
the relevant organisation’s policies, eligibility requirements and approval.
Wavell Netball Club cannot guarantee that these amounts will be refunded.
For Winter registrations, participation in
training, grading or taking the court may affect eligibility for a refund of
the Netball Queensland component, including insurance-related costs.
Where registration has been paid using a
Play On voucher, the club cannot refund the voucher amount as cash to the
player or family once it has been claimed.
Where a player withdraws, any eligible
transfer of the claimed voucher amount to another sport registered in the Play
On system must be managed in accordance with the applicable program
requirements. Such transfers are subject to confirmation of the process and
eligibility.
All withdrawal and refund requests must be
submitted in writing to info@wavellnetball.com.au.
Requests should include:
Bank account details are not required
initially. Refunds will be processed through Netball Connect using the original
payment method where possible. If the system cannot process the refund, the
Registrar will contact the family to arrange an alternative method where
appropriate.
6. Exceptional Circumstances
Wavell Netball Club
recognises that exceptional circumstances may arise that prevent a player from
participating in the remainder of a registered season.
These circumstances
may include:
Where a player is
unable to continue participating due to injury or illness, the club may request
supporting medical documentation.
Refund requests will
be considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the circumstances,
the proportion of the season remaining and costs already incurred by the club.
Approval of an
exceptional circumstances refund is at the discretion of the Wavell Netball
Club Management Committee and applies only to the Wavell registration fee
component.
Brisbane Netball
Association and Netball Queensland fees remain subject to their respective
refund policies.
Where a player wishes to transfer to
another club or association, the applicable Netball Queensland and BNA transfer
and deregistration requirements will apply.
Any refund associated with a transfer will
be considered in accordance with the relevant organisation’s policies and this
club policy. A transfer does not automatically entitle a player to a refund.
This section applies to uniforms and club merchandise sold by Wavell Netball Club. Uniform purchases are separate from player registration fees. Nothing in this section excludes rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
8.1 Change of Mind
and Sizing
Wavell does not offer
refunds for change of mind, an incorrect size selected by the purchaser, or a
uniform no longer being required because a player withdraws. The club may, at
its discretion, exchange an unworn, unwashed item with tags attached when replacement
stock is available. These conditions apply only to discretionary change-of-mind
exchanges, not to claims under the ACL.
8.2 Faulty,
Incorrect or Misdescribed Items
Where goods are
faulty, not of acceptable quality, not as described, incorrectly supplied or
otherwise fail an applicable consumer guarantee, Wavell will provide the remedy
required by the ACL. For a major failure, the consumer can generally choose a
refund or replacement. For a minor failure, Wavell may initially choose to
repair, replace or refund the item in accordance with the ACL; further remedies
may apply if the problem is not resolved within a reasonable time. Order number
may be requested, but original packaging or attached tags are not required for
a valid ACL claim.
8.3 Personalised
and Special-Order Uniforms
Personalised or
specially ordered items are not eligible for a change-of-mind return or
exchange unless Wavell agrees otherwise. This does not affect consumer rights
where an item fails to meet an applicable consumer guarantee.
8.4 Withdrawal and
Uncollected Orders
Withdrawing from a
competition does not automatically cancel a separate uniform purchase. Requests
to cancel uniforms that have not yet been supplied will be assessed according
to the order status, terms agreed at purchase and applicable consumer law. The
club will not automatically withhold payment for goods that it cannot supply.
8.5 How to Request
a Return or Refund
Email
info@wavellnetball.com.au with the player’s name, item and size, details of the
issue, and order number where available. Photographs may assist with
assessment. Wavell may request reasonable inspection of the product. Any
approved refund will normally be made to the original payment method where
possible.
8.6 Consumer Rights
Australian Consumer
Law consumer guarantees apply independently of this policy, including to sale,
special-order and personalised items where relevant. Wavell will not impose a
blanket time limit or a no-refunds condition on statutory consumer guarantee claims.
Relevant consumer
guidance: Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), “Consumer
rights and guarantees” and “Repair, replace, refund, cancel”:
Players and parents/guardians must acknowledge this refund policy as part of the registration process.
